This remains an incredibly useful and well done device that sounds great...thank you!
I agree with the comment above...this is one of THE most useful and elegant delay devices I've found for M4l. Use it ALL the time. Should you ever think of updating it there's two things that would be useful...
1) An output control as I note a loss in volume with a mix @40%.
2) Modulation - a simple sine wave (or slewed random) modulation of the delay to add some wobble.
Either way is really great and leads me to wonder why things from Ableton like "Echo" only do 1 Bar and 5 seconds? Thank you!!

I wonder if a better solution for this particular case would be to use multiple instances of the device, rather than one mapped to multiple parameters. Since the device also passes the raw MIDI note, any additional instance further down the chain will create a different random value.
What do you think?
Yes, yes...that would work. Never get notified that someone replied to a comment so thank you!

Looks cool, a few quick questions please...
1) Max delay is 2 sec, how about in Sync mode...1/1, 2/1 etc?
2) What defines difference in delay time from one to the next delay as they are added...can the base time or "offset" be set per delay?
3) Feedback and Diffusion added to all delays in the same amount?
Thanks!

Can one of these modulate the parameters of another in the same track? That would be awesome...looks really cool.
What's the maximum delay time please?
I dunno if this would be possible, but it would be really cool to be able to have it generate a different value for each mapped parameter but keep the GUI simple. Personally I don't need to "see" each value, just be able to constrain the Lo/Hi values as you already provide. Maybe just a button that says "S/H Per Map" or "Per Map Value" that turns it on and sends/generates a different value for each mapped parameter...oh, I think I said that already! :-)
This is a VERY useful device indeed...thank you!
This is a wonderful device, great work. One small thing: I can't seem to type in different times...it keeps returning to "2.00".
You REALLY need to stop posting all these devices with blinking graphics on M4L...it's awful and annoying and I won't purchase anything until you do! :-(
Sounds VERY good, a major improvement on the LIVE Phaser. Recommended!
Been waiting for a good phaser, about to download. A few friendly comments if I may...
1) Is Range the same as Depth? If yes Depth is a more standard term in phasers. (FWIW)
2) What is Spread please?
3) Instead of "Free" why not call it LFO and LFO Rate rather than "Free", especially when you have a "Manual" mode.
4) Why not make Range and Spread as circular knobs on top of each other like Center and Speed...more consistent. :-)
5) Looks like you have space for a Six Stage mode which is one of the best sounding Stage settings. 2/4/6/8/12/16
All meant as friendly suggestions only...thanks!

Wonderful! Great design, functionality, totally unique and extremely useful/inspiring. So great for non-repeating modulation both subtle and extreme. Kudos!
Want to make this a really valuable device...add the same (longer) audio length as your Digital Delay, i.e, more than 1/1 bar. Make it possible to get 1, 2, 3, 4 or more Bar lengths. That would make it an instant purchase for me (personally). Thanks!
Hi, thanks. I must have deleted the email possibly as spam, can you resend if possible. Most appreciated!
Love the device, really sounds great but is as mentioned a little CPU heavy. A follow up few comments/suggestions if I may for consideration if you decide to do any more development...
1) Center Freq: To "tune" the center frequency of the notches when using lower depth settings.
2) Width: To spread the sweep across the stereo field +/- left and right.
3) Stages: It sounds like this is a 2 stage filter, would be nice to have 4 and 6 stages as well.
Thanks for your excellent work, this is way good enough to charge for, spent $ on many less useful, less decent sounding devices.

Downloading....does the Rate fluctuate, or, can you modulate the fluctuation rate?
The Woggle Bug, like the Buchla Source of Uncertainty allow you to modulate the rate of fluctuation with a fluctuating signal so it speeds up/slows down in an unpredictable manner.
Could one of these modulate the rate of another etc?

Downloaded, installed....crashed. Nothing happens, no sound passed. Thoughts?
- One of the best designed devices I've found here or on the commercial market...really nicely done.
- Glad to hear Random is coming - assume that would be a per channel random note select?
- Is there a way to send the different patterns to other devices/midi channels or did I miss how to do that?

Still one of the best sounding delays I've found here by far.
Suggestions/Requests:
1) Does not remember delay time when saving a preset or in Live set.
2) LFO depth is too deep too fast at lower settings.
3) Tempo sync would be helpful.
4) Longer delay times would be great (if possible)
5) CPU use is a bit high

This is a great sounding device but it uses a lot of CPU on my old MacBook. Would really be great if it could be less processor intensive.
Can you email me pls: drewsynth1 at aol dot com. Have an idea...
This is really excellent sounding, kudos indeed.
Two small comments:
1) Some of the knob names are a little washed out and hard to see. My eyesight is not the greatest.
2) The Mod Rate could be a little more granular at the low range; the jumps between speeds is somewhat drastic and at the slower settings it would be nice to have finer control
Wonderful overall and thank you...one of the best sounding devices I've found here!

This is a wonderful sounding phaser. Two small comments:
1) It's a bit CPU heavy, anyway to reduce that?
2) Would be nice to have a "Width" control to move it from Mono to Stereo.
Nice work!

This is a great device, well designed and very useful...thank you!
I've been synthesizing, recording and using effects since 1974 and have owned many flangers from the A/DA, Electric Mistress, MXR Flanger/Doubler to a Marshall 5402 Time Modulator. I'm not exaggerating when I say this is one of the best sounding flangers I have heard in software...period. I wish there was an AU Plug in that sounded this good but I've not found one.
Not only does it sound wonderful and very analog, the design is one of the best I have seen; it's really well laid out with a great amount of control and the RIGHT controls too. So many little things like a (x7) button that increases the delay time, various LFO shapes WITH SLEW! Want to use a triangle but smooth out the sharp peaks, easy. Want to get a smooth random use the S/H and add slew etc.
I know this is long but I think this is one of the best devices I've seen on this site and it's worth every penny being charged and more. It blows away the Ableton Flanger by a mile, they should buy it and include it with LIVE it's that good. Awesome job!!

Can you please provide some idea of CPU usage for the verb...thanks!
This looks nicely designed. Curious about the CPU% required as many devices on M4L take a LOT of CPU. Thanks!
After months of use I still find this to be one of the best delays I have used. The varied Input filters and Feedback filters really allow you to get different tonalities from Echoplex to analog BBD delays that are darker.
It also does very close to Zero Crossing flanger and wonderful resonant flanger affects. I'm using a Max LFO for modulation as the internal mod gets really deep really fast.
Would love to see longer delay times up to 8 seconds or more. A great device!

Onee more comment; you might want to make the name something like BBD Analog Delay as I could not find it with search as I kept thinking "analog delay". GREAT analog flanger affects like my old A/DA Flanger!
This is a really great delay effect and indeed can sound very analog / BBD. One of the most musical delays I've encountered in LIVE / M4L. A couple of small suggestions if I may...
1) The mod depth control is very sensitive so it's a bit hard to get subtle modulation...would be nice to have more range at lower depth settings.
2) Would love to see longer delay times up to say 8-10 seconds or sync to Bars: 1/2/4 etc.
Either way I am enjoying the device and find it very musical...thanks!

This is one of the most useful delays I have found for LIVE! The really long delays are wonderful and the divisions make sense without a lot of UI nonsense. Some suggestions to make it even more useful...
1) Both Hi and Lo Cut filters
2) Time modulation - Sine/Tri/Square with Rate and Depth in Hz
3) Freeze - Capture the current audio in the delay and keep playing it back
This is close to having Expert Sleepers Augustus Loop in LIVE. Thanks for your work on this...really excellent.

Hi Will - Really linking this device a lot. Had one small request; can you set it to go slower than 1.00hz? I am doing some very slow ambient music and it would be great to have smaller values available. I find that when LIVE is set to like 30BPM and it is synced I don't get notes being triggered. Thanks for your excellent work.
It would be a lot more useful if there was finer control than 1-10 and it really could use a Mix parameter.
Maybe make the ^ go from 0 (No Wet) to 5 (50/50) to 10 (100% wet). But again, it sounds excellent!
