Device Overview

Name/Version: Automatic Quantization Changer 1.0
Author: NickHydeViolin
Description: The Automatic Quantization Changer automatically changes Ableton's quantization settings (both recording and global) based on which track is currently in use by the user. The user simply drops this device onto a track, and then selects how to change the quantization settings.

When live looping clips, this device is useful to change quantization settings automatically without needing to hit any buttons. You can select tracks 1-4 to have a recording quantization of 16th notes and a global quantization of 1 bar, and tracks 5-8 to have a recording quantization of 1/4 notes and a global quantization of 4 bars.

There are 4 ways of detecting when a track is in use by a user. The default choice is when the track is selected, but the option also exists to change quantization settings when the track is soloed, armed, or unmuted.

I'd say a demo video is coming soon, but I haven't done it in like a year so... whoops

Would have to disagree tho that no one wants a kick drum on a 16th note, lol. Otherwise, love it!

Does this affect also the Arrangement time line and loop start/end quantizations?

@Stromkraft This device will work in arrangement view, yes, though I built this as a session view live looping tool. Loop start/end quantizations - if you mean global quantization, yes this is affected.

hello

does this device works when we are recording several clips in the same time with one device per track with different quantization settings per track ?

thank you !

Um, is this device deprecated by your "Advanced Quantizer" device? Because I can't find this device anywhere on the link you give to your website.
