Overview

Name | Version: Presets Device 1.2
Author: killihu
Device Type: Audio Effect
Description: Presets Device allows you to save and load presets of all the parameters of one or more devices at the same time.

Unlike the Macro Variations feature of the Live effects rack, where you can only take presets from the 16 Macro Controls, with this device it is possible to take presets from all the automatable parameters from both Live devices and external plugins.

It is possible to take presets from a single device, from all devices within an effects rack chain, or from all devices on the track. It can be used with VST plugins. The Presets plugin creates presets of the controls added in the Configure Mode of the VST rack.

The only thing to keep in mind is that when creating/loading presets for devices within an effects rack chain or the entire track, the position of the devices cannot be changed.

A total of 64 presets can be stored. Presets can be renamed. It is possible to change presets using MIDI note input.

i dont have a use for this, but very well done! looks great and i can see how this could be very useful for many people.
As Live 12.1 is coming soon I decided to get this for it. Considering the mutation presets if I think they're not too expensive also and a bunch of non-commercial things also on my download list.
I've been using this indispensable device for a while now and I found out the only thing missing is if it could grab the parameters of all devices is an instrument rack/drum rack, any possibility to add that? and while at it, a map-able SAVE / DEL of the currently selected preset would completely finish this of, thanks for what it's already capable of ofc!
@Meh33 - I'll keep it in mind to try to add it in future updates!
Finally a device that I can use to easily "reset" all my devices back to an "init" state. Very cool! My only complaint is I wish I could midi map each preset slot individually, but I have managed to hack a mappable button to bang a value into the patch to select the first preset
Hi, first — thanks for the device, it works great for the vast majority of parameters.
I've run into one issue: quantized parameters don't recall properly. Specifically, with SoundToys EchoBoy, the "Style" selector (a dropdown that switches the echo model) and its dependent parameters are stored but not recalled — every other continuous parameter recalls perfectly.
I've confirmed the parameter is controllable via the Live API: when I move "Style" manually from Ableton's unfolded device parameter list, EchoBoy switches style correctly. So the parameter is exposed and writable — the issue seems to be on recall.
My guess is that quantized parameters are being sent back as a continuous/interpolated value (e.g. 0.62) instead of being rounded to the exact integer step position. EchoBoy then ignores or misreads the in-between value. Continuous parameters (Time, Feedback, Mix, etc.) tolerate any value, which is why they recall fine — but quantized selectors like Style need the exact step.

Happy to test any updated build. Thanks!
@stenikmusic - Tested with EchoBoy VST3. The Style parameter is saved and loaded correctly. Perhaps you're using the AU version? If that's the case, there's no possible fix. It's best to use the VST3 version.
