Name/Version: MPDclips 0.9
Author: quivive
Description: Needed a backpack friendly rig right away. For some reason the python script for the MPD26 posted in the ableton forums kept breaking down and telling me it couldn't handle the sysex i don't know what happened so i threw this together. much of the live api calling and routing was pulled out of a patch titled clips_m4l that was for monome clip launching, I can't seem to find a link for that patch anymore. anyway to use this just map an available knob to the scene selection and your pads or buttons to the live buttons on the patch, moving the selected scene it automatically updates which clips are being launched by the pads. i didn't put in any stop or scene launch buttons I just hard mapped those to pad bank B on my MPD. not quite as cool having a red box but an efficient work around. Thought someone else might find it useful.
Just played last night and had some issues with buttons getting stuck, etc. will be continuing to work on this but if anyone has any problems or suggestions please let me know, would like to make this thing work eventually.

i have a mpd 26 but i dont understand your devices.
Sorry

ok so it's fairly simple, you midi map one of the dials on your mpd to the scene selector which appears near the bottom of the master track in midi map mode. when you select a scene the patch updates itself, the top left button in the four by four is track one clip equating to the selected scene the next three down are the next three clips. so you map your pads to the four by four grid and you have clip launching over four tracks. it would be fairly simple expand the device over more banks of the mpd if you wanted more than four tracks to play with. this patch seems to be working fine, i found that the issues i am having are with my mpd sending toggle style information whether i am in toggle mode or momentary mode, so the buttons stay on after being pressed. that is why there was a delay under the buttons in the patch to reset them after being pressed and i got stuck in some sort of a loop with that when playing that show. now that i don't need this patch immediately i would like to try and make it more functional so if anyone else with an mpd can try it out and let me know if they have the same problem with the buttons staying on (try the new version) i would like to know if there's something i don't understand about the mpd itself or if it's my mpd.

Sorry, I don't get this either. What's this supposed to do? I want to record drums in the same style as you would with an MPC. Can this do that? Or, is this things trying to recreate what an APC40 does with an MPD24?

You actually have to edit your live.buttons to work in both ways. Open every live.button inspector and from All - Value - Bang when Transition - (change this to) Both. Worked for me.
