for best results, a measurement mic.
(measurement mic == the more linear the frequency response,the better)
actually, even cheap ones are pretty good,like the 'behringer ecm 8000.

..I did this device for my own purposes and didn't care too much about a smooth workflow, so I'd advise you to do some tests at home..

I would love to check this out,
but it crashes LIVE everytime I try to load it.

does it use a floating window?
this seems to be buggy since live 9.5 or so.
