Description: | Sample Mower is an experimental sound generator/sample player that *literally* mows audio samples. SM uses custom High-Res wavetable functions to control the playback speed of any audio sample you want - just load it in the device and start experimenting. Sample Mower lets you also upload (drag&drop) any sample in the wavetable section, for absolute madness. How to use: - Load the device into a MIDI Track and create one or more MIDI clips with a bunch of MIDI notes. The device can trigger the sample (emit any sound) ONLY if there is a MIDI Clip triggering the device. - Click on Load_Sample to load the sample to be mowed by the device, or drag and drop a sample - Select a wavetable from the Wave Menu, or load a sample in the wavetable waveform section if you feel really crazy. - Press Play or start composing on piano roll with Preview Mode on - Try it out and enjoy. And please let me know of crashes/bugs etc. Different samples will yield different results. Try using samples of varying lengths, tonalities, and dynamics for a wide range of outcomes. Different note lengths in your MIDI clip can drastically change the sounds produced by SM. Experiment with both short staccato notes and long sustained notes for varied effects. The Duration Knob is still WIP! use at your own risk. will probably be removed since its causes a few bugs. This is a part of a huge project that's in development and testing since 2021, crossing different platforms from Kyma to Plogue Bidule. Please do not copy any patcher or content or data. Core engine programmed in gen. timeline: V 1.10 - added drag and drop feature for loading sample V 1.11 - added regex label to display the selected sample's name V 1.2 - Improved GUI. Most parameters are now fully mappable V 1.3 - added phase control for the wavetable & authoring V 1.41 - added sample start selection (experimental), mappable buttons for phase settings, wave phase is dynamically now shown on GUI |

Yo great device - thanks for sharing it. Question, I tried drag and drop with a sample (cuz I'm lazy like you say you are!) and it appears that that the sample or some portion of it replaced the wavetable. Visually anyway, that seems like what happened. Is that correct? Also, drag and drop for the actual sample a possibility w. the final version? That would be dope. this is going places, I dig it! |

Hi Freddy, thanks for your feedback. The drag and drop function might be a bug - I didn't really mean to activate such feature - but in your case it appears that the drag and drop actually affects the wavetable buffer... which could be an actual feature. I'll add the drag and drop feature for the Audio Sample though, cheers! |
