Name | Version: Lunchbox EQ 1.0
Author: OspreyInstruments
Device Type: Audio Effect
Description: This a API Lunchbox format equalizer. It is modelled after a plugin/hardware that I am quite fond of. What I am not fond of, however, is invasive copy protection schemes like iLok.

The original developer's marketing material calls this a "transient equalizer". I don't believe there is anything special about it any sort of envelope follower / transient / steady-state way. It does have nicely ranged EQ curves that I always found useful for quickly dialling in tones with lots of vibe and flavour. Like FocusEQ, this is meant for broad strokes EQ work (general shaping), not anything surgical.

One of the trickiest aspects to mimic was the proportional Q behaviour. This sharpens the Q when the boost/cut gets more aggressive. This is certainly part of the character of the original that I found most useful.

I'm sure you could identify the original if you poke around enough. I have a lot of respect for the dev, so I'm not trying to negatively impact his business in any way. Merely, offer an iLok free alternative...
