Overview

Name | Version: MIDI Guitar 2.0.0
Author: flowstate
Device Type: Audio Effect
Description: V2.0.0 Now updated to work with Live 12 and Apple Intel/Silicon compatible.

Real time audio pitch and amplitude tracking is converted into MIDI messages.

Play monophonic synth lines using a guitar.

Detects pitch bends and vibrato on the guitar.

The device is set up and calibrated for a Guitar input but it will work with any audio signal.

Contains additional pitch mapping up to 8 parameters to track the pitch, using the same UI as Live's LFO device.

Two devices work in conjuction, one detects the pitch and sends the MIDI information, the other receives the MIDI and outputs it to the MIDI track.

Release notes:

V2.0.0

- Support for Apple Silicon

- Live 12 compatible

- Multimapping of pitch tracking to up to 8 parameters using the LFO mapping UI

Additional Comments:

Due to using the LFO mapping UI abstraction from Live 12 this part of the new (V2) device only works in Live 12, I am looking into backwards compatibility to support Live 11.

I'm interested! But need to see evidence of how well it tracks before purchasing. Demo video?
Oops, just noticed the video link haha. Very nice! Purchased it :)
hey there just brought your device, works great with my bass, also having great success using samples! awsome device thanks!
Does this work with Live 9?
Hi, This has not been tested with Live 9, only 10. There is no reason it shouldn't, but we will look into this and update the information.
Hello,
even with the best buffer settings I've got too much latency to play with correctly. This device is a really good idea but I don't know if this kind of device can be fast enough with M4L and ableton...
Kind regards
Hi, The device does add some latency, however this can be adjusted. A setting of around 15ms additional latency on the device is recommended to achieve accurate but still playable results. If you would like to email support we will try to assist you in ensuring the device is set up correctly and the best performance possible achieved.
Hi and thanks for your answer !
I tried to listen to my guitar in parallele with a synth trigged by MIDI Guitar and I was'nt able to achieve a good latency... even with latency correction from this device or from ableton. I'm using Metric Halo interface that have no latency at all (DSP) and I think that it will don't work for my purpose.

Anyway, thank for your support !
How much latency are you experiencing? With a close to zero latency interface it should be possible to play MIDI guitar parts with ease.

MIDI Guitar should only be adding additional latency by the amount specified (15ms is recommended for most instruments).

If you would like to email the support email provided on your receipt I can explore this further with you or look at other options if you're not satisfied.
Hi there!
Maybe something goes wrong for the demo video link (https://www.facebook.com/flowstate.tech/videos/359354711689280) couldn't be opened. "Probably the page was deleted". Have you another demo video link? Maybe YouTube? Maybe just web page with demo content?

Please answer if possible.
Thanks!
Hi - Unsure why the video link doesn't work for you, but the video is now on Gumroad as well, just follow the link.
