Device Overview

Name/Version: 8Kontrol 1.0
Author: Steolepanda
Description: Problem: macro controls are great but can only map parameters of devices on the same tracks (and not the ones from devices placed before them).

8Kontrol allows you to map parameters from any device regardless of their location in your Liveset.

You can centralise all parameters you need to control.

Next version will modify the Live Dial unit based on the mapped button.

NOTE: sometimes the mapping doesn't work after the first try, just insist until it works...

For info, this maxforlive audio device is based on the MapButtonLFO.maxpat

Feel free to use it and modify it if you want.

Very cool. Thanks for this!

It would be cool to get an XL (16 macro) and XXL (32 macro) version for tracks with deep nested chains.

Well I thought about this, but then you can't group the device and map more than 8 macros anyway... I think it's better to just duplicate the device.

If you want to add more macros you can open the max editor and copy paste until you have the number of live dial you need.

When I have more time I'll see if I can create a "add one more live dial" button, so when you touch it you get an additional live dial. That can be a better solution actually.

Right on. I'm personally using Isotonik's PrEditor device so you oculd totally get around the 8 macros limit by just making serpeate banks for them in PrEditor.

It's so rad, highly recommend. Will check out just copy / pasting in the meantime tho. Thanks!

Big thanks! For me its the best midi helper device in Ableton. Im using to add more device to a channel, make a group for each of them and map to regular macros, where i can name the device shown on Ableton Push 1 and can rename the macro names to see what you tweaking.
Excellent!

Hey thanks for the upload.... A nice simple solution to a problem I just ran into... Workflow saved. :)

Merci, tr?s utile !
