Hi.
You can record with an other midi track. Put the scale device in midi track 1 put your instrument in midi track 2. Route midi in from midi track 1.
I'll Try to upgrade and ajust this probleme

Just copy past the in out device in a new maxpat in Max msp and save it.
Select your input output and enjoy.
