This might be a bit late answer, the drum synth is working absolutely amazing on P3 standalone, although to take advantage of the drum sequencer view, I had to create a drum rack with eight instance of the Beet (which is pretty redundant) , I created a rather complex drum rack of drum racks in order to map the parameters of each individual voice to the macro of the currently selected drum voice , which works great even without live.banks mapping in the max4live device, since the parameters are all midi mapable already. It generally is, if you are running the device in a network, in which the port 9876 is exposed for public use. Also the device is made for short term data transfer.
