Description:	After saying it couldn't be done properly, I decided to find out if it was possible to build a decent compressor in Max without a gen~ licence :) I initially set out to make something smooth (opto / vari-mu style) with slow attack/release and a gentle knee. It seemed easy enough to keep adding features so I may have gotten a little carried away (perhaps this is the hallmark of what is becoming my "flex" series of devices... or all my devices for that matter). One quintessential property of an optical compressor is the feedback topography. That is to say, the compressor reacts to the output, rather than the input. I got to thinking... why does it have to be one or the other? So I included a mode control to mix between feedback and feedforward side-chain signals. This is unique to this device, as far as I know.
