Device Overview

Name/Version: 4-track 1.0
Author: TilmanEhrhorn
Description: *4-track is a virtual multitrack tape machine.

Four different buffers can be randomly or selectively populated with samples from a folder with an arbitrary number of samples. These samples can be played and looped in full or a selected length.

Within each of the four loop players, the respective sample can be played simultaneously at two different speeds and directions.

Randomly chosen loop selections can be constantly generated as part of a smooth transition using fade-ins and fade-outs with no interruption.

Many of the parameters like speed (and thus pitch) or amplitude can be modulated. Furthermore, the level and panning can be modulated in various pair combinations of the sample content, so that new textures, ambiences and soundscapes will be permanently created.

Looks interesting! Are you planning on making a demo/tutorial video?

Nevermind, I see the videos now.

Bought it 2 days ago in a bundle with tape multi.....both crash Ableton Live 11 after a while and I don't know why, but it seems to happen, when I change the buffers with other samples

I'm on Windows 10 22h2, Ableton Live 11.2.11

I hope there will be an update as I like these ones for soundscapes! Thx

@alectaylor75: I'm very sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, I can't reconstruct the issue on my (relatively old) Mac. Both devices are not exactly sparing with the CPU. Could it rather be an overload of the resources, why Ableton Live then simply crashes? If you can't work with it at all, you'll get your money back (or plugins of your choice that are about the same price).

@TilmanEhrhorn: Well, I could already test your updated version of track multi and it works like it should and today I got an email, that you have updated 4-track too so I suppose it will be fine with the new 4-track too ;-)
