Thank you, thank you, thank you... this is something really simple and useful. Why does the automation record need to be off? It actually recorded my Modulation wheel ( by accident but I think that is even better)
No problem! I was really surprised that something like this didn't exist already! Or maybe it did, but I didn't feel like looking for it...

So the reason why automation record needs to be off is because if it's on when your in the overdub state Ableton will record and loop back the button press, causing the state of the looper to change without you meaning it to.

I would imagine there is a solution to this, but for my purposes I didn't feel like finding it. Please feel free to make any suggestions!
Also, I just found this out. If you want to record with multiple tracks armed, the only way to prevent everything in the scene to be triggered is to turn off "Start Playback With Record". Which actually kind of sucks... I may need to make a v2...
