Description: | Update 0.3 - Fully functional 'Tonic' feature (see below) Update 0.2 - Solved a major referencing issue which caused overwriting of saved scales - Added a reset button to set to default - Cleaner interface - Updated for Live 11 and Max 8, works on older versions too! Ragapeggiator is currently a work in progress. It's a simple scaling device with the 10 modes or 'Thaats' of Hindustani Classical music stored as presets. It's ideally meant for composers and musicians who lack instrumental training but still wish to explore and study Hindustani ragas. + This device maps a selected mode to the white keys of the piano roll allowing you to play the thaat/raga without worrying about hitting a sour note. + 'Tonic' allows you to set any of the 12 notes of the octave as your root note and still play on the white keys starting on C. For example, the setting D - Kalyan maps the actual scale (D E F# G# A B C#) to (C D E F G A B) on the keyboard. Playing complicated scales is now a cakewalk + 'Reset' sets the device back to C Chromatic and also reloads the original scales (if altered) + The modes can be altered through the interactive grid and can be saved as a standard .adv preset in your user library (see screenshot for example). Pressing the Reset button or reloading the device restores the original settings. Named 'Ragappegiator' because, the final product will have many more features including sequencing, arpeggiator and ascending/descending scales making it closer to a raga playing assistant. Till then enjoy this "beta". |

Hi, I'm not sure I understand the question. But you can always open the device using the patching mode and see its internal construction. Nothing complex in it...just a scaling device.

Great work mate! Love this. How long would it take to complete this project realistically?

Hey antpstyle. Thanks for the positive feedback. This tool is quite simplistic. Im working on a fully functional raga composition tool (planning to do a PhD in it). Hope to build a working prototype in a year. Will probably upload it here for the community.
