Author: | softcore |
Device Type: | MIDI Effect |
Description: | If you are using a midi controller with Ableton Live which is not purpose-built for Ableton Live there is no way to have visual feedback whether the selected clip is in looping status. Mapping the "loop" button to a button of your controller doesn't help either, because as soon as you select a different clip, the button doesn't reflect the currently selected clip's looping status. Using this device, whenever you select a clip, your mapped button will light up when the clip is looping. USAGE EXAMPLE: I am using a Behringer BCR2000 when I perform - DJ with Ableton Live. Amongst other things, I have mapped buttons to select tracks and clips. I also have mapped two buttons for loop set-in and loop set-out and a third one for loop-unloop. Using this device, whenever I set a loop on a clip, the button lights up giving visual feedback of its looping status. Furthermore, each time you select a different clip, the mapped "loop" button will light up if the clip is in looping status reducing the need to look at my laptop screen all the time. HOW TO SET UP: Fairly easy, click "help" button to read instructions FINAL NOTES: I know this is a very "esoteric" device with a very specific function that most people will never need. It was however something I needed, so since i created it, why not share it? Softcore - www.softcore.net.gr |
