| Description: | The Echo Arpeggiator is a pitched delay network which feeds your audio through 3 pitch shifted delays and then back into itself. Control each pitch shifter separately and create complex delayed arpeggios. You aren't limited to parallel stacking harmonies found in other pitched delays. Only the pitch shifter on the last delay stacks on top of itself when you turn up the feedback, so you can create pitched delays that don't get too out of control with the smallest amount of feedback. Just set the last shifter to 0. Create repeated arpeggiated chords by using values like (4, 7, 0) for the 3 pitch shifters and turning the feedback up. Make these chords stack at the octave by setting the last shifter to +12. In general I find +- 0, 5, 7 and 12 to be good settings for the last shifter (and all of them) to keep things relatively “musical”. Of course it's also musical to use weird values like +11 and +8, depending on what you want to do. The simpler the input sound is harmonically, the more adventurous I find you can be with the pitch shifters. Use the “Steps” parameters to create uneven rhythms with the delays. Set the time represented by 1 step at the top. The step times for the left and right channels can be unlinked and controlled separately (default) or linked together, with a spread knob to deviate the channels, and add some stereo. The delay time of this device is meant to be modulated, and gives a pleasing granular effect when you do so. Set the size of these grains with the “Grain Size” parameter. At low sizes you get squirrely granulary growls when you modulate the delay. At high sizes, you'll get slow morphing long grains. High and low cut filters in the feedback circuit. This gives you an extra control over unwanted high and low frequencies created by feeding pitched delays back into itself. Turn up the size of the delay buffer in the settings pop up window and you can have really long delays. If the settings button turns red, you have to make your buffer larger, if you want to delay your audio the full length. I left this in so you can have long delays if you want them, without wasting a bunch of RAM when you don't need them. Mono mode also available in settings to save CPU.
