Kantian is the first algorithmic and deterministic sequencer with a special ability — sequence different algorithms across a timeline, drawing from mathematics developed by ancient Greek thinkers (Euclid of Alexandria, 300 B.C.), to World War II decryption systems (the Turing machine by Alan Turing), and more esoteric analog logic (NIBBLER 4-bit register, a Eurorack module by Schlappi Engineering).

Most generative sequencers offer one algorithm. KANTIAN lets you mix all three in a single pattern cycle. Slot 1 can run a Euclidean tresillo while Slot 2 evolves a Turing melody and Slot 3 generates Nibbler arithmetic sequences — all locked to the same scale, key, and chord progression. The result is musically coherent complexity that no single algorithm can produce alone.

šŸŽ²
-3 Distinct Algorithms
Mix and match Euclidean, Turing, and Nibbler simultaneously. Lock the randomness when you hear something you like, and modify it once it's in the buffer.

šŸŽµ
-Music Theory at Its Core:
Make your melodies conform to chord progressions, keys, and scales. 51 scales from tonal to microtonal, including rare tonal worlds like Neutral Phrygian and Bohlen-Pierce.

šŸŒ€
-Polyrhythmic & Microtonal:
Go from beautiful trance melodies to skippy, broken, dissonant techno. Polyrhythmic, polymetric, microtonal — microtonal IDM, if that's your thing.

⚔
-Ratchets:
With acceleration, deceleration, and velocity decay. Go granular! Perfect for IDM or complex rhythmic melodies. 1–8 rapid sub-hits per step.

šŸ“ø
-Snapshot Sequencer:
Store up to 8 complete snapshots. Time-shift snapshots left and right, change order, repetitions, and use the amazing Pitch Squeeze slider.

3ļøāƒ£
-Triplets Engine:
Activate a triplets engine that mixes 16th notes with triplets — all the algorithmic power adopts the triplet language for natural swing.

šŸ”
-Cluster Editing:
Cluster algorithmic editing for fast exploration, deterministic classic step sequencing for when you need to fine-tune your sequences.

āœ‚ļø
-Carve:
Use the Carve button to rhythmically tap silences into your sequences — a fast way to create space whenever you need it.

šŸ’”
-Interactive Info:
Hover on any slider, button or element of the interface and get a pop-up with a short explanation. Learn as you create.

What's new:

-Snapshot Sequencer — completely redesigned

-New compact interface for capturing, chaining, and editing patterns

-FRAME range spans 128 steps with two pale-yellow handles for precise start/end

-Wide PLAY button and camera-styled SNAPSHOT title

-Click any dot in a stored snapshot to toggle that step on/off directly

-Yellow active-step dots scroll left/right with the OFFSET slider so you see what the engine plays

-Per-snapshot EUCLIDEAN VELOCITY MASK — punches accents and ghost notes into stored patterns

-Per-snapshot AMOUNT knob — scale masked-step velocity from full mute to no reduction

-Per-snapshot OFFSET with color-coded handle (blue = positive, red = negative, green = zero)

-Snapshot popup has its own POP-UP INFO toggle, matching the main GUI

-Guided first-run tour

-The first time you open the device, a step-by-step tour walks through the key controls
PREV / NEXT / FINISH buttons let you skip or jump back at any time
A pulsing yellow ring highlights the control being explained

-Step editing:

Click + hold + drag any step for fine-tuned pitch, gate, or velocity
Drag velocity to zero to mute that step explicitly

Triplet dots are now fully editable by drag (gate / vel / pitch), same as regular steps
Bright pink playhead ring tracks the engine in real time

-Music & algorithms:

16 new scales, including 6 dissonant / experimental ones (Carlos Alpha, Wolf Pythagorean, Bohlen‑Pierce, Pelog 7, Subharmonic 7, 22‑EDO Superpyth)
-True microtonal output via 14‑bit pitchbend — the SCALE slider turns cyan when a microtonal scale is loaded
-LOOP knob now doubles as a tonal coherence control: high values pull generated notes onto chord tones

-STEP MASK popup with Euclidean subtraction (PULSES / LENGTH / ROTATE)
-ADD RATCHET mode: up to 8 hits per step with COUNT, TIMING (accel/even/decel) and DECAY

-SQUEEZE NOTES popup: compress highs and lows toward the root note
-GATE LENGTH master slider with yellow triangle handle and exponential curve

What's fixed:

Pop‑up info windows fit the device — the guided‑tour popups no longer get clipped at the bottom
Snapshot popup labels slide intelligently so the FRAME label is never occluded by the handle number
Turing step deactivations stick — clicking off a step no longer immediately re‑fires it on the next tick
Playhead no longer starts one step ahead when you hit PLAY
Step Mask survives project save/reload and "Edit in Max" script reloads
Snapshot bank is now authoritative from the engine — no more ghost "playing" highlights after recall
Triplet polygon respects deactivations and follows the sequence visually
Empty Euclidean circles fixed (Bjorklund base‑case bug)
Ableton's parameter‑restoration burst on patch load no longer wipes engine state
Snapshot recall during SEQ plays in shadow mode — your main sequencer keeps editing intact
ALGO buttons stay a fixed width (sized for "NIBBLER") so the layout doesn't shift when you change algorithms
Turing SPREAD caps at 99% to avoid the single‑tone collapse at full
CLOSE X and INFO buttons in the snapshot popup are bigger and easier to hit
GATE LENGTH triangle handle has a generous hit area — drag from anywhere on the line
