Overview

Name | Version: ya-Notcha - Random and Gate Groups 1.0
Author: yarhammer
Device Type: MIDI Effect
Description: ya_Notcha: Random & Gate Groups

This one can get quite complex.

ya_Notcha generates interdependent probabilites  across multiple instances.
Rather than randomizing notes in isolation, multiple instances can communicate to synchronize their gate states, enabling complex, responsive rhythmic patterns.

Operating Modes: Assign instances to one of four groups (A, B, C, D) to define their behavior:

Isolated: Functions independently, applying the set probability percentage to incoming MIDI notes.

Lead Latch & Lead Gate: Acts as the group master. It evaluates its own probability and transmits its gate state (open/closed) to connected devices.

Latch updates the state on Note On only;
Gate strictly follows note duration (Note On and Note Off).

Follow: Opens its gate only when the Lead device's gate is open. Crucially, it then evaluates its own independent probability setting to determine if the note will pass, allowing for organic layering.

Oppose: Inverts the Lead's gate state (opens when the Lead is closed). It also evaluates its own independent probability setting, making it ideal for generative call-and-response sequencing.

As with all ya_Devices, we needed this for ourselves, so it might not be useful to your workflow. However, if you find it useful, great! You are welcome. If you find issues, let us know.
