Hi braduro, thanks for suppporting the project and sharing your earnest feedback! I appreciate and understand where you're coming from. I'm planning a walkthrough video which will be up soon.
In the meantime, I'm curious to learn more about how you're using Irys. I've just created a Discord server for us to share our questions and feedback :

See you there!

I would have been kinder to this dev, but on his YouTube channel many have rightly complained that whilst the device is cool and looks great visually the actual interface in terms of usability leaves a lot to be desired and the user guide is practically useless in explaining how to use the device.
Many users have asked for a more detailed YouTube tutorial which to be fair to the Dev he's promised.
However on his YouTube channel another user said 'to those that need a tutorial video just mess around and find out' - to which the Dev responded with a laughing emoji.
Let me assure the Dev here and now - my hard earned cash IS conditional on getting some respect as a customer and on that regard you have failed us considerably.
Business 101 - don't mock your customers when they complain about an interface YOU have badly designed and implemented, and they need your guidance to effectively use.
As for potential buyers everything I have written is factual and I have screenshots to prove it - make your own mind up if this developer actually has any respect for you as a customer...but if in doubt...
He doesn't.

To Jason and anyone who reads this, have a good, earnest look at the responses I've left, both on YouTube and in the Discord server.
I assure you that if there was any intention to mock anyone at all, you wouldn't be the only other person noticing that. I try to be as helpful as possible to everyone who has supported the project so far.
As the original commenter pointed out, the emoji was simply in response to the bluntness of his original comment. I certainly meant no disrespect to anyone, not least the people who have chosen to support my very first software project.
That said, I am well aware that the user experiences has several areas of friction am actively working on an update to improve on them, as well as providing detailed support to customers who come to me with questions and feedback. It is normal for software to have bugs here and there and I can assure anyone reading this that an update is on the way which will address these issues and make Irys even more robust than ever.
If you have a genuinely constructive feedback to give, however strongly worded, I do welcome it and am actively working to address as many of these issues as I can. However, it seems like you haven't really provided any specific areas where Irys falls short of your expectation, and I'm afraid that's not sufficient for me to provide any meaningful assistance to you.
Other users have left their feedback on the Discord server, to which I've responded with some short clips demonstrating how to get the best out of Irys. Perhaps you could start there and see if it answers some of your questions.
Nonetheless, have a good day!

This appears to be one of the best rare gems of Ableton Live. Perfect for Electronic rhythms it is! Excited to try it after buying it!

Hey Syn, thanks for your kind words! Perfect might be a little bit of an overstatement, but I am committed to improving it as much as I can to make it as musical as can possibly be. Feel free to shoot me any questions you have :)

results will be spotty without some included presets or a thorough reading of the manual, I believe. getting the behaviour dialled in requires a review of the manual, or a video walkthrough you know what I'm saying? There's a stark difference between any attempt at rhythm sitting inert, playing sporadically, and having any recognisable intentionality. For something this visual, I'm surprised that I couldn't evoke some inspiring results, which I'm certain this device is otherwise very capable of accomplishing.
And truly beautiful and unique!
