Device Overview

Name/Version: Implicit Arm Utility 1.0
Author: felice
Description: Toggle switch to enable/disable implicit arm on the currently selected track.

The device allows the recording of automation only with controllers using the implicit arm track state (e.g. Push).

Why do you need this device:

Because of the implicit arm track state, arrangement record overwrites the track's clip content. Controllers using the implicit arm state set it automatically and as of now it is not possible to manually turn off the implicit arm on a track.

This device toggles the currently selected track's arm state, allowing the recording of automation only.

How to use:

* Use only ONE device per set
* Place it on a "utility" track as audio is not routed through the device (For my use case I don't want the audio to be routed through, but feel free to change the device.)
* Map a key to the toggle button. Hint: Map the arrangement automation view button and this device's toggle button to the same keyboard key. When you want to record automation select the track you want to record and toggle your selected keyboard shortcut.

Note: "MIDI Overdub (Arrangement)" and "Automation Arm" (top of the screen, next to the Play/Stop/Record buttons) have to be enabled.

Caution: Once this device's toggle button is engaged switching tracks re-enables implicit arm. This device works per-track rather than globally.

@spiralune

Not if you have Push or another control surface, 'implicit arm' if forced. :-)

@felice

Great little tool, been struggling with this for years.
