Generate Basslines Your Way Generate basslines from a key and scale, or import a MIDI chord progression and let Arche follow your chords. When a chord progression is imported, Arche uses the chord information to guide pitch selection and harmonic movement. Choose from four rhythm generation modes: Style Specific — dedicated rhythmic and melodic behavior for each style Euclidean — generate rhythms using Euclidean algorithms Turing — create evolving rhythms using Turing-based generation Fibonacci — generate rhythms using Fibonacci-based patterns Shape your basslines with Density, Complexity, and Voice Leading controls, or take greater control of pitch selection with the Custom Intervals system. Manipulate Your Own Basslines Use the DNA Engine slots to manipulate imported basslines and explore variations ranging from subtle transformations to more dramatic changes. Powerful Mutation Engine Already have a bassline you like? Use the Mutation Engine to generate variations from any generated or imported bassline. Select a bassline or snapshot, adjust the Mutation Amount, and generate multiple variations at once. Use lower amounts for subtle changes or increase the amount for more significant transformations. Lock your favorite slots to protect them from regeneration or mutation, allowing you to develop and compare ideas without losing your best results. Musical Phrasing Create structured bassline phrases using predefined or custom patterns such as ABAB, AAAB, ABCD, and more. Phrasing can control rhythm, or both rhythm and pitch, depending on the selected phrasing mode. Use lowercase letters to create subtle variations of existing sections, or choose Free for completely different rhythm and pitch in each bar. Humanization & Performance Controls Give your basslines more natural movement with: Pocket — adds subtle timing variation Velocity — adds velocity variation Syncopation — controls rhythmic syncopation Set your desired pitch range using Anchor Min and Max to keep generated basslines within a specific register. Edit, Compare & Explore Every generated bassline can be viewed and edited directly in Arche's integrated Piano Roll Editor. Add, remove, move, transpose, and resize notes to quickly refine your ideas before exporting. Use Play, Lock, Mutate, Undo, Redo, and Snapshots to audition, compare, save, and develop your favorite basslines. Snapshot system: The Snapshot system is useful for A/B comparisons, saving favorite basslines, and keeping different ideas available for later use.
