Overview

Name | Version: BCA1624 1.0
Author: darktrunk
Device Type: Audio Effect
Description: Where the BCA5E3 is composed and restrained, BCA1624 is the opposite philosophy entirely: an amp built to grind, and to grind early. Modeled on a circuit famous for one thing above all — turn the volume past noon, and a fat, compressed clean tone evolves into an immediately recognizable, musical grind that stays articulate no matter how hard you push it.

Two fully independent, linkable channels recreate the real amp's own "jumper" behavior, each with its own dedicated tube saturation. A genuine, musical tremolo brings vintage pulse and motion. A switchable rectifier "sag" gives the power section real springy dynamics under heavy playing. And beyond the amp itself, BCA1624 goes further than any amp in this series so far: built-in **cabinet modeling** (four distinct cabinet voicings) and **microphone modeling** (dynamic and condenser character, with adjustable on-axis/off-axis positioning) let you shape not just how the amp sounds, but how it's *captured* — all without ever leaving the plugin.

Eight presets take you from bedroom-clean to full-throttle stadium grind, with two tones inspired by legendary players known for pushing this exact circuit hard. Every control stays live and tweakable, every stage genuinely reactive to how you play.

this is one of 10 new Guitar Amp Emulations. All 10 will be at gumroad by the end of August and right now there are 2 uploaded. this one and the BCA5E3. Lovingly built and tested in my studio, they are built with the philosophy of 'being an amp'; think of it as a software version of the real amp stuck in the corner of your practice room or bedroom. I have tried as hard as is possible to match the original circuitry and signal flow of the hardware versions.
