By "listening" to your Traktor broadcast via a local Icecast server, this tool extracts the Musical Key from your current track and automatically retunes your entire Ableton Live 12 project to match. Perfect for Hybrid DJ sets and live looping performances where your instruments, arpeggiators, and effects need to stay perfectly in key with the track you are spinning. How It Works The device connects to a free, local Icecast server running on your machine. Traktor broadcasts track metadata to this server, which the Max for Live device reads, parses, and converts into Global Scale data for Ableton. Important Workflow Requirement: To function, your tracks in Traktor must be renamed so the Track Title starts with the key (e.g., "11B - Song Name"). This can be automated easily using software like Mixed In Key. Key Features - Global Scale Sync: Automatically updates Ableton 12’s Global Scale, forcing all scale-aware devices (Push, Meld, etc.) to snap to the current key. Universal Key Support: Reads Camelot (12A), Open Key (1m), and Standard (C#m) notations. Auto vs. Manual Mode: Auto: Updates Ableton immediately when a new track is detected. Manual: Flashes a "Ready" LED when a new key is found, allowing you to "Deploy" the key change exactly when you want (e.g., on the drop). This compensates for Traktor's internal broadcast delay.
