Description: | Hi Folks, This is the MkII version of my hybridized clone of the classic Illformed/Dblue "Glitch" infernally mated with the Sugarbytes "Effectrix". Its particular, beneficial mutation is that you can load your own vst effects into each slot. I feel like all of it is self explanatory, except for the vst part. Press Load and locate your Vst folder to select a vst/3 (possibly Au?). Click on the vst title bar to view the vst gui. The Preset number selects presets in the vst. Below that is the Snapshot Storage and Morpher. Twiddle the knobs (or press Random) on the vst and Shift+Click on the row of squares to save a Snapshot. Twiddle the knobs some more (or choose another preset) and save another Snapshot. Click on a Snapshot to recall it. The Morph slider morphs between the Snapshots stored in the A and B ends of the slider. Change the numbers at the end of the slider to select the Snapshot loaded there. Below that is a display of all of the vst parameters. Up to 4,096 parameters can be included in a Snapshot. The Preset number, Morph Slider, Snap A and B are all automatable. The horizontal tracks control when incoming audio is gated to the corresponding effect. Each track has 16 sequences with Direction, Interval, Start, Loop Length and End parameters. In addition, you can Shift and Scramble each track. The Prob knob determines the probability of an active step being heard. The 1 and 0 buttons turns all steps on and off respectively. I have a lot of kitchen sinks I can throw into it. Its already a cpu hog, but why not go for broke? My home version has Offthesky's Crackle Buddy built into it, next to the input. I can imagine other devices there. Maybe Pitchdrop, CD Skip, Tapestop, Reverser Buttons? Obviously, each of these increases the gui. I'm not really a sound engineer, but I could put 12-24db multi mode filters at the begining and/or end of the master chain. Is one enough? at the begining? End? Both? Maybe more control over the compressor at the end of the chain? Whats worth the CPU/GUI hit? I could easily add 2 extra lanes to each sequencer. One for Probability and one for Stutter or ... ? I was also thinking about an amxd version so that you can load MaxForLive devices in each slot. I guess you would be able to load each of the 6 slots with 6 different versions of this device... If anybody has any ideas on reducing the square footage, please help!!! Except, I really want to keep all of the dials. Also, The reason I took down the original is because of the Solo functionality. It works for me now, but maybe thats because I'm currently special. It didn't used to always work. Please let me know if it acts wierd for you. Please let me know about bugs and possible design improvements below. Share and Enjoy!!! |
