Description: | hey all, i was mucking about with learning m4l, so just decided to chuck these up for download. the primary reason i created these sequencers was to try and arrive as a DFAM-esque note length/approach, where the note length can almost 'eat' up notes, and create interesting rhythmic patterns. there's 4 sequencers here; all of them a variation on a similar idea, and/or just a variation in general. the versions are: OllieSEQ 8 pitch dials (C2-C6) , 8 velocity dials, 8 note length dials step division note offset (works garbage) mono/poly (works garbage - essentially some notes may 'glide over' when in poly mode) octave randomize note/velocity/length OllieSEQ_NL has velocity knobs defining note length in step divisions, OllieSEQ_Percentage has note length defined in percentages (0 - 400). both of these create interesting, staccato patterns - but there is no particular rhyme or reason to understanding it (or at least i can't). i just play around randomizing stuff and then fine tuning something i end up liking. KinnowSEQ 8 note multislider for pitch (C2-C6) scramble pitch step division octave sequence length control KinnowSEQ_16step16eval has multisliders for both pitch and velocity. Additionally there are two gate off implementations; i) gate off [pure] turns off gates while keeping velocity levels at default, ii) gate off [rand] randomizes velocity while turning off gates. there are some implementation issues with both gate off controls, sometimes they tend to take an additional gate on or off, depending on how its feeling at that point of time! KinnowSEQ_8step has dials for velocity - simpler implementation, only randomization of velocity - no gate off implementation. ------ These were just made for fun and experimentation, as clearly there are flaws, but I thought i'd put them up regardless as they can be fun and useless for weird grooves and rhythms, both for bass lines and percussive, noisy textures! you can get them on gumroad (for free ofcourse): https://asfandyark.gumroad.com/l/m4lseqs (also a big thank you to jimi demetriou, his midiDFAM was extremely helpful in my initial understanding of working in m4L - you can find it here: https://jimi-demetriou.gumroad.com/l/CWcSA) |
