Description: | Send each note of a chord to a different synth! This device is in two parts, a recorder and a receiver. The idea is that it lets you play a chord on your keyboard and control which voice goes to which synth. So for example, you could play a four note chord and it will send the lowest note to a Minimoog, the middle two notes to a Juno 60 and the top note to Serum. "But how does it know which voice to send where?" i hear you ask! Well, after you play the chord, it won't output it (that's why it's called "Recorder") until you lift one (but not all!) key again. So as an example, you might play C3, E3, G3, Bb3, but it won't output the chord until you lift the lowest note. At that moment it will output all 4 notes, and will also respect the timing that you played them in. This might sound strange, but it only takes a couple of minutes getting used to the playing style required. You basically just need to immediately life your thumb (or left hand) as soon as all of the notes of the chord have been pressed down. But lifting any key will trigger the rest as well as the lifted key. Because the device is in two parts (two devices), you need to also download the receiver device here (as well as a demo project showing it in action): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vra7LMqI61nwxEim7fyOrFfdTImutf3H/view?usp=sharing The Recorder has a special "3 channel" mode that will send all middle voices to receiver voice two. So for example, if you have a 5 note chord, the output assignment will be: Voice 1 (bottom voice) to receiver 1 Voice 2 to receiver 2 Voice 3 to receiver 2 Voice 4 to receiver 2 Voice 5 (top voice) to receiver 3 A couple of notes: I didn't make these devices, they were made by someone else at my suggestion (the idea was 100% mine). I'd like to add some more features, like making it possible to move notes (voice leading) after the chord has triggered and improving the triggering logic. If you're interested in helping out with that, please make a comment below with your contact info. Note: you can chain the receiver devices together to allow more than one note through (as seen in the demo project). Also note: the listed Max Version used is not correct because i don't know which version was used! Cheers, have fun with it and post any feature requests or comments below! |
