Device Overview

Name/Version: arm on select 1.0
Author: danibleep
Description: MIDI device that arms the track it's on when that track is selected, and un-arms it when another track is selected. Disabling the device prevents arming changes.

There are no other controls! It just does its thing.

There are two other methods I know of that do this:

You may have a controller that does this automatically via its Live integration. For example the Push automatically arms instrument tracks when you select them.

There is also the "-EnableArmOnSelect" hidden preference, but I don't want it to happen all the time so I haven't tried that. If you do then that may or may not work for you.

There may be something else that I'm totally missing!

Neither of these were quite right for me, so I made this. Maybe you will find it useful too.

This is awesome. Yes I use this feature on Push 2, but this is great to have when working mobile. Just add this and save as default midi track and you're all set. Great device. Many thanks for creating it.

hi there, this is great! im curious if there's a way to get this to work when this device is inside a rack? currently that breaks it but would love to have a preset rack with this inside it. tia! cheers.

solved! replaced the "live.path this_device canonical_parent" with "M4L.api.GetThisCanonicalDevicePath" abstraction, run through a "zl.slice 4" then through a "live.path" object. will try and post the resulting patch at some point :]
