Overview

Name | Version: The BootySampler 1.0
Author: BootyCrew
Device Type: Instrument
Description: The BootySampler allows its user to record and loop a short audio sample in a very musical way. The audio sample is stored into a 2048ms buffer and processed in two different ways: a vocoder and a granulator.
The vocoder has two voices, each assigned to a kslider (piano rolls). Here, the length of the buffer as well as its playback position is synced to the chosen tempo (i. e. triplet - 4, or double - 16).
The granulator is not synced to the tempo, which creates interesting off-beat patterns while still using the same audio sample. The granulator’s output is routed to a reverb and a delay.
The BootySampler also has a lowpass filter and panning that only affect the vocoder as well as the granulator’s delay. The granulator’s dry signal and its reverb is neither filtered nor panned.
As the BootySampler is especially interesting to create unique rhythms, it includes a built in kick that can be added on spot to instantly feel the groove.

To get started:

- Hit the Microphone icon to start the audio engine
- Hit the toggle next to it to record sound from the chosen audio input (i. e. your computer’s microphone).
- Slightly move the filter’s frequency to hear the vocoder and the granulator’s delay
- Hit the toggle in the granulator section of the user interface to start the granulator
- Have fun!
