Device Overview

Name/Version: Volca Beats Velocitizer 1.0.1
Author: J0J0
Description: The Korg Volca Beats does not interpret the velocity information included in MIDI notes, however it does understand volume control of each instrument via MIDI CC messages.

This device translates the velocity information in the notes to the corresponding CC values, thus making the machine velocity sensitive. The incoming velocity values are also shown graphically.

bugfixes / release notes:
* v1.0.1 2018-03-14 - fixes missing data in NamesToNotes coll; debug triggers now fit with abbreviations used above visualization

Thanks a lot to a friend who pointed me to the Volca FM Velocitizer (, to the devices builder wzrdzl and to a nice guy named doubleUG on the Ableton Live forum for helping me create this device.

BTW: My first M4L experience was a contribution to this:
If you own a Jomox Airbase 99, check it out, it's worth it!

Looking forward to any questions or feature suggestions!

I am partly describing the device on my blog, if you are interested in learning some M4L:

Update 2019-05: There is an extended edition of this device downloadable here:

Great UI improvement comparing to the Volca FM version! Well done!

Thank you! working great!
Would be nice to have attack\decay control.

Hi ilyaRt,
I just realized your comment, almost years later! I am curious how you'd think of attack/decay controlled could be working or what exact behaviour you thought of?
Thanks for clarifying, if I think it's possible I will look into it!
