Very Cool! would there be a way you could update this device so we could assign a specific key to each scale and root rather than only 2 keys scrolling through the root notes and scales?

choose 'c minor' and assign a key/midi map to it

choose 'A major'and assign a key/midi map to it

I understand your request, but this would entail numerous combinations. With 12 root notes multiplied by 35 scales, it could become overwhelming. While you don't want every option, it must be flexible to accommodate diverse needs. I I need to consider how to implement this. It would require a significant rewrite of the device.

In what situations and how do you plan to use the desired mappings?

so, the user case is for live performance, you have your midi clips/data feeding the instruments and at whatever point you can press a single key and change from c major to to e minor.

what if you used your existing format but added the root drop down field (C) to the scale drop down field (Minor) to equal = A minor?

maybe have 8 of these lines so you can choose 8 key scales?

sorry for my ignorance but can you not use the existing scales and root notes menu already in your device?

I can combine 12 root notes and 35 scales, but that will become a long list. However, creating the list is not the problem, mapping the desired combinations is. It's not possible to map entries in a list, just the drop-down itself. The device must provide a way to map various root notes and scale combinations.

In addition, my device cannot change the scales of multiple selected clips at once, so that's another thing I must address. Just to make sure you know, the root note and scale you see in the transport bar are of the selected clip; It's not a set-wide global scale.

Even if you could map your favorite scales, and my device would apply those scales to all selected clips, you'd still need to make that selection first. I imagine that selecting clips is not feasible during a live performance.

ah yes, indeed I would have to select the clips i want to globally change the scales of. I understand/accept that.

no worries, i can see all the work it would take you to set up the tables and links. I will look at a paid option.
