Overview

Name | Version: ahl-RecArp 1.0
Author: ahlstrominfo
Device Type: MIDI Effect
Description: I made this simple thing for my Ableton Push 3 Stand Alone

Binary pattern-based arpeggiator that records and plays back your MIDI input
Records your MIDI performance into memory, then plays it back using binary trigger patterns. Same binary logic as the Note Arp, but using your recorded notes instead of held chords.
Recording Parameters:

Arm: Recording mode

Press: Manual - click Record button to start/stop recording
Timeout: Auto - starts recording when you play, stops after silence timeout

Record: Manual record button (for Press mode)
Clear: Erases recorded memory
Order: Playback sequence

Next: Plays recorded notes in order
Random: Randomly selects from recorded notes

Pattern Parameters:

Nrs Bits: Total pattern length in 16th notes (2 = very short pattern)
Swing: Timing groove amount (0 = straight)
Duration: Note length percentage (100 = full length)
Reset: Pattern restart control (0 = free-running)

5 Bit Trigger Patterns:

Bit 1 = 10: Binary 1010 = "X-X-" (triggers on steps 1,3)
Bits 2-5 = 0: All silent = "----" (no triggers)

How it works:

Record a phrase (chords, melody, whatever)
Binary patterns determine when recorded notes trigger
Order setting controls whether notes play sequentially or randomly
Creates rhythmic variations of your original performance

Perfect for creating complex rhythmic treatments of recorded musical phrases.
