Device Overview
Name/Version: | Big Ghost Prototype - Standalone App 1.1 | |
Author: | weightausend | |
Description: | This device is a MacOSX software developed in MAXMSP/Gen~ that aims to explore the concept of buffer data manipulation, inspired by the error correction/anti-skip units of old CD players. It creates a time-delayed "ghost copy" of an audio file that can be manipulated in real time with feedback lines and DC filtering applied directly to the buffer reader index, a unique feature that I believe doesn't exist elsewhere. This results in distinctive sound variations and glitches that can be recorded instantly. The software includes an 8-step sequencer with storable random steps, enabling random jumps from one point of the file to another. V1.1 - added button for audio settings/io |

This is an incredibly fun standalone device for making controllable, glitchy effects on whatever audio file you place into it. Very nice work! |

I like textural stuff & all sorts of granular and a little experimental here and there. This will be used in my projects! |
