Device Overview

Name/Version: Delayer 1.0
Author: Ziob
Description: A dual-channel (R&L) filter delay where spectrum peaks are randomly-generated in one of two modes:

1. Harmonics ('Hrms') - The device chooses randomly, out of a 'Range' that has been set by the user (Max range 40 - 2000 Hz), a fundamental frequency that is followed by its ascending 'N' harmonics.
The fundamental frequency (1st harmonic) is marked yellow to indicate a new harmonic cycle.
The integer multiples (N) is set by the user - if it is set to 1, then N itself is selected randomly at the end of each harmonic cycle.
The direction of each harmonic cycle could be:
Up - Fundamental to N higher harmonics.
Down - Starts from highest multiple of fundamental (colored gray)
and goes down N steps to fundamental frequency (colored yellow).
Up & Down - Climbs up and goes back to start a new cycle.

2. Randomly ('Rand') - In this mode, the device simply chooses randomly
frequency peaks from a range that has been set by the user (Max range grows to 40 - 6000 Hz).

The device can be synched to Live's time or to an independent inner metronome in the device (Sync or un-sync ['S'-'U' button] to Live bpm count).

When needed, the device can be turned into a conservative filter delay ('Bounce'->'EQ' button). The graphic EQ parameters can then be used to feed back specific zones of the spectrum - manually or by Live's automation.

Use the Noise utility [N] to test your device setup. White noise will give you
the best conditions to examine and follow the behavior of the device.

Left delay time (‘Time L’) defines the cycle interval in relation or not ('S'-'U') to Live’s BPM.
Right delay time('Scale L to R') is not standalone and actually defines the proportion to the left one.
The time intervals of the bouncing frequency peaks ('Bounce') are defined
in proportion to the left & right delay time (defined above), respectively.

The bouncing frequency peaks intervals, will reset every time Live’s 'play song' pressed ON, or when triggering the 'R' button on the device itself.

The Glissando ramp time ('Gliss') enables smooth transition when bouncing and is also scaled in relation (0-1) to the 'Bounce' time of each channel (L&R).

Use the Crossfade Panning feature to auto-crossfade Left with Right for
beautiful panoramic sound (see options and description).

For more information, use the hints (tooltips, triggered by the 'H' button) and the detailed documentation in Live’s info view for each button and feature.
